Muhammad Wilkerson wants to recapture “dominant play” with Packers

Muhammad Wilkerson was named to a Pro Bowl and was twice a second-team All-Pro selection during his seven seasons with the New York Jets.

But after a bitter ending to the relationship with the Jets and a New Nike NFL Jerseys pair of inconsistent seasons, Wilkerson is hoping to rejuvenate his career with the Green Bay Packers.

A one-year deal with the Packers should help provide incentive for Wilkerson to find his motivation again as well. He’s still capable of being a problematic defensive lineman when he plays to his peak ability. The Packers will hope he can get them that version of himself more frequently than in New York.

“Russell Wilson,” Mathieu said without hesitation in a recent interview that was aired earlier today on PFT Live. “No doubt about it. He’s one of the most underrated players in the National Football League. I think if the Seattle Seahawks didn’t have him I don’t think they would be as dominant. He’s definitely one of the best players in the game.”

Mathieu also seems to agree with the notion that the Seahawks currently are reshaping the roster in a way that makes it Russell Wilson’s team.

“I’ve had the chance to play against him maybe 10 times already,” Mathieu said. “He’s been one of the greatest competitors. . . . One of the most comfortable players, poised players I’ve ever played against. He does things that you can’t coach. That’s what makes players special. Obviously, Seattle had a great defense, right? The last five, six years? I think they kind of overshadowed him a little bit. It’s no doubt that the guys that played against Russell Wilson, they know what kind of Green Bay Packer Cheap Jerseys player he is.”

Former Mets slugger Ike Davis strikes out side in debut as full-time pitcher

Long before Ike Davis become a short-lived power-hitting sensation for the Mets, he was an untouchable high school pitcher. At age 30, Davis is back on the mound full-time in an attempt to resurrect his major league career.

Davis struck out all three batters he faced in his pitching debut for the Dodgers’ Arizona Rookie League affiliate on Sunday. According to FanGraphs, he worked at around 88-92 mph in his inning against hitters about a decade younger than him.

“I’m still angry,” Hernandez said (via MLB.com). “I’m trying to calm myself down, trying to smile to hide what I feel inside. I’m just hoping to get healthy and try to help, try to help this team go to the promised land.”

Hernandez says he has received an injection of protein-rich plasma in his sore right shoulder to calm his bursitis and is awaiting clearance to begin rehabbing and eventually throwing. Doctors have projected a three- to four-week absence, but he said he’s hopeful he can beat that timeline.

“They say 3-4 weeks, but I think I can be back earlier,” he said. “I just have to be careful not to rush it, because I feel fine. I felt fine before the last start in Texas. The day I pitched in Texas [on July 31], I felt good. The next day, I felt a little something in my shoulder, but MLB Jerseys Wholesale I was fine before that.”

Hernandez, an uncharacteristic 5-4 with an 4.28 ERA in 13 starts this season, is on the DL for only the fifth time in his career. But this is his third DL stint in the past two seasons, as New Nike NFL Jerseys shoulder bursitis landed him on the DL earlier this season, too.
